The Management Science and Engineering Discipline of Our College Has Achieved Good Results in the Third Round of Evaluation of the Ministry of Education.

      A few days ago, China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center announced the results of the third round of discipline evaluation. The first-level disciplines of management science and engineering in our school ranked 14th among 102 participating disciplines, tied for sixth place, and ranked 13% in discipline rankings.

      Since 2002, the discipline evaluation organized by China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center has been carried out for three rounds. The previous round of discipline evaluation, in the management science and engineering discipline, 52 universities attended, and our college ranked 27th. This time, in the management science and engineering discipline, a total of 102 colleges and universities participated in the evaluation, and the number of participants has increased significantly compared with the previous two rounds.

      Li Jun, Director of China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center, at the press conference of the discipline evaluation, pointed out that discipline is a concentrated expression of a university's core competitiveness and school-running characteristics. The discipline evaluation is aimed at promoting discipline construction and improving the quality of graduate education and the quality of degree awards. In accordance with the idea of “improving quality, optimizing structure, developing characteristics, and making innovation”, this evaluation adopts the principle of “science, objectivity, seriousness, normalization, openness and clarity”, combining subjective evaluation with objective evaluation which was the main evaluation method. The evaluation highlights the orientation of quality, effectiveness and characteristics, emphasizes quality, dilutes scale factor, and sets up an orientation; and this evaluation changes the student quality evaluation mode, improves the evaluation method of talents, and pays attention to the evaluation concept of combination of quality of education and quality of career development; and it still changes academic paper evaluation model, using quantitative and qualitative methods, quality and quantity methods to evaluate the actual influence of China's economic and social development and the international influence, which creates a good evaluation atmosphere; also, the evaluation changes the evaluation model of scientific research results, emphasizes the social service ability of discipline; it classifies the index system to highlight the characteristics of discipline, and strengthens the classification guidance, which scientifically reflects the effectiveness of the discipline construction in the characteristic universities, and more objectively demonstrates the overall advantages, characteristics and development status of universities.
