M.Eng.

Program Introduction

From 1997, the College of Economics and Management of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) began to enroll the Master of Engineering (M. Eng.) students in the field of industrial engineering, and became one of the earliest colleges of management to train the M. Eng. in China. Since then, the education of M. Eng. in the college has been continuously developed. In 2004, the college became the first batch of institutions authorized by the national education authority to award master degrees in the fields of project management and logistics engineering. Over the past a few years, the college has trained more than 2000 engineering masters. A large number of high-level project management personnel and professional and technical personnel have been supplied for many fields of engineering such as industrial and mining enterprises, army and military industries, departments of construction and transportation, and aeronautic, astronautic and other scientific and industrial institutions as well as administrative institutions of the government.

In February 2017, NUAA submitted the application of the “qualification of Engineering Master and IPMP Certification Cooperation in the Field of Project Management”, which was evaluated by the Expert Committee of Qualification Certification and Evaluation in the Field of Project Management, and has been formally approved. The M. Eng. students major in Project Management (including Engineering Management, MBA and other similar majors) in our university, may be exempted from written examination and enjoy a preferential fee policy when applying for all level certificates of IPMP.

Majors and Research Areas

1.Major in Industrial Engineering

The M. Eng. in the field of Industrial Engineering aims to cultivate high-level engineering technical and engineering management personnel with solid theoretical knowledge of natural science, social science and economic management. They also should systematically gain one or more disciplines of engineering professional knowledge and learn basic theories and methods of industrial engineering. Furthermore, they are expected to understand theories of modern engineering economy and management, to master advanced technologies and means to solve engineering technical and managerial problems. In addition, the personnel should be able to apply these theories and methods comprehensively, to solve practical problems in production and management.
