报告摘要：

This paper examines the effect of universal prekindergarten (pre-k) on the labor force participation of mothers with pre-k-aged children in Oklahoma and Georgia. I apply the synthetic control method (SCM) to Current Population Survey (CPS) data to identify the causal relationship between universal pre-k and female labor market outcomes. I find that the universal pre-k policy has a positive impact on the intensive margin of the labor supply of mothers with pre-k-aged children in Georgia, which provides full-day childcare services for all pre-k programs. However, Oklahoma's universal pre-k policy has little effect on the labor outcomes of mothers with 4-year-old children. The empirical results also suggest that universal pre-k has heterogeneous impacts on subsamples stratified by education level, marital status, poverty status, and the age structure of children in the household.

李昊，东南大学经济管理学院国际经济与贸易系讲师、硕士生导师，中国美国经济学会理事。毕业于美国南卫理公会大学，获得经济学博士。研究方向为应用计量经济学、收入不平等和性别工资差异。主要研究成果发表在Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series A, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, China Economic Review, Southern Economic Journal等国际知名期刊。主持国家自然科学基金青年项目1项，参与多项国家级、省部级课题。
