The College of Economic and Management has been recruiting students in three main categories which are Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration, and Economics and Trade since 2013. Students will select majors for subsequent studying according to social needs, personal pursuits and comprehensive qualities in the third term, instead of being divided into a specific major when falling into categories above at the beginning of entrance.

1.Management Science and Engineering

The category of Management Science and Engineering, consists of three majors which are Industrial Engineering, Information Management and Systems, and Electronic Commerce. It’s positioned on cultivating talented people who can master the basic theory of management science, be familiar with modern advanced management technology and method as well as be good at combining qualitative analysis with quantitative analysis, scientific methods with engineering implementation. The category’s goal of talents training also aims at cultivating future promising talents in academic fields and high-ranking compound management experts with international vision, innovation capacity and leadership potential who are able to scientifically evaluate, decide, improve, implement and control managed objects, counting on modern economic management theory and information technology, to meet the needs of enterprise and public institution, government agencies and non-profit organizations for administrative decision making, planning, diagnosing and researching.

2.Business Administration

The category of Business Administration consists of Business Administration, Marketing Management, and Accountancy. It is geared to the needs for operation and management of for-profit organizations such as advanced manufacturing industries and service-related industries. The category’s goal of talents training aims at cultivating applied talents equipped with high political quality and professional quality who can conduct effective business management and operation decision making for for-profit organizations, in order to improving their competitiveness and efficiency, by performing activities like planning, controlling, organizing, coordinating and innovating depending on basic theories of management, economics and quantitative analysis.

3.Economy and Trade

The category of Economics and Trade consists of two majors that are International Economics and Trade and Finance. Through theory teaching, course experiments and social practice, this category aims at training economy-majored workers who meet the needs of our country’s development in economy and society, who know about the circumstance of economy growth, who have good knowledge of relevant economic rules, who understand various economic policies and laws, who are able to analyze and judge specific economic issues as well as seek suitable solutions to put into effect by using basic rules and relevant basic theories in economic areas, who speak English fluently while communicating with others, who are well-educated in theory and personality, who have international horizon, the ability of innovation and leadership to become promising academic youngsters as well as practical economic assets. This can meet the requirements of foreign trade corporations, financial institutions, private enterprises, government’s economic sectors and scientific institutions.
